The only naturally habital world of the Independence System, Independence III is almost twice the size of Earth at the same gravity. It has a broad tropical zone that extends so far out the equator that the climate zone spans the diameter of Earth. It is the home of giant reptilian forms of life similar to that of dinosaurs, and many of them are highly aggressive. It has nine continents.
There are relatively few settlements on Independence, as it is colloquially called. Almost all are farm settlements. One of which is a Catholic Abbey of St. Agatha. The other major settlement is called Groundfloor, a oft unnamed district of Independence City. Others are farming settlements that do what they can to produce food and fend off dinosaurs as they can.
The storms on Independence are notoriously horrendous. A thunderstorm can last days there, and can throw down 36" of rain easily in an afternoon. Tornadoes rip through North Twain almost constantly, making that continent almost uninhabitable in spite of its lush farmland.
